Water Heater Removal

Drained tanks and old heaters hauled away and recycled, ready for your plumber's new install.

A new water heater arrives, and the old one needs to leave. Tanks are heavy, awkward and full of sediment, and a basement or closet makes them harder to move. We remove old heaters and send them to metal recyclers.

We can work the same day as your plumber or follow after. Tankless units, electric tanks and gas tanks are all fine. A qualified plumber should disconnect gas, water and power. We carry out what is left, haul it away and recycle the steel.

Disconnection first

Gas, water and electric lines need to be shut off and capped by a plumber or another qualified tradesperson. We do not make those connections, and we tell you what to prepare.

Draining and moving

Tanks should be drained before pickup. If water is left inside, a 40 or 50-gallon tank is a heavy, sloshing load. We bring a pump and hoses if needed.

Working with your plumber

Tell your plumber we can handle the haul-away. They may skip the disposal step, and you avoid adding it to the plumbing bill.

Timing with the install

The best plan is for the plumber to disconnect the old heater, set the new one and for us to arrive the same day. That way the old heater is not sitting in your hallway overnight.
