Piano Removal

Uprights, spinets, baby grands and organs moved out safely, with the weight handled by a crew that has done it before.

A piano can weigh hundreds of pounds, most of it in a frame that does not forgive a drop. It is also a thing people hate to see go to waste. Our crews move pianos with the right dollies, straps and ramps and send them on to a good home or to recycling.

We take uprights, spinets, consoles, baby grands, digital pianos and home organs. We assess the route from the instrument to the truck, protect floors and doorways and move it in a controlled, steady way. If it can be donated, we try. If it cannot, it is dismantled and recycled.

Moving a heavy instrument

We use piano boards, skid boards, ramps and straps so the piano stays level and under control. Stairs are a case-by-case decision, and we tell you plainly what is safe.

Donation or recycling

A tuned, playable piano may be a gift to a school, church or family, though many partners are selective. Pianos that cannot be donated are taken apart, and the iron plate, wood and hardware are recycled.

Grand pianos

Baby and larger grands are legs-off jobs. We remove the legs and pedal lyre, board the instrument on its side and carry it through the safest path.

Piano tuning and donation

If the piano is in decent shape, a tuner can tell you whether it is worth keeping or donating. We focus on safe removal and will try to find it a home if it can play.

Questions

Piano Removal FAQ

Can you remove a piano from upstairs?

Sometimes. We assess the stairs and tell you honestly if it is safe.

Will you donate my piano?

We try when it is playable, but many partners are selective. Otherwise it is recycled.

Do you take digital pianos?

Yes, and they are recycled as e-waste when they cannot be donated.

What about a baby grand?

We remove the legs and lyre and move it on its side. It takes a bigger crew, and we plan for it.

Do you take organs?

Yes. Home organs, electric and pump, are part of our work.
